SCHOOL

First day of college is coming up soon. How many of my readers are also in college? Whether just starting, finishing, or in the middle, the new school year brings many things with it. My boyfriend and I are able to go to school together this year. The year before he was located at a different college for sports purposes. I am interested in how this year goes with him. I think it will be fun. and probably stressful at times...

Getting ready and prepped for school was definitely a challenge this year. I wont bare all the details of my personal life, but I will stick with what is appropriate for the blog...

Target was a saint. I purchased all of my school supplies from there (except for the backpack, which I purchased at the student store on campus). They totally pulled through, but I do recommend doing back-to-school shopping ahead of time. I feel super smart, because I completed mine the month before school. That way everything was still available and in full stock. Don't procrastinate!! On anything!! (Even purchasing highlighters).

I regret picking classes so late. I waited for my boyfriend to clear everything from his transfer (I don't know why...) before applying for a BOG Waiver and enrolling in classes. I could have done it as soon as May, but I chose to put it aside. (Hint: DON'T PROCRASTINATE). Instead of complete and utter destruction, like I assume most of my readers are expecting... I came out on the other side perfectly. I have an awesome schedule, I am able to still work nights and weekends. Also, none of my classes are super early. The earliest class is at 10:30 am. Even my man got great classes and has managed to schedule them all onto only 2 days of the week. (I am impressed).

I plan on staying super organized. I always have and I always will love calendars and planners. I have 4 calendars. Two calendars on my phone, one is in my planner, and I have another small paperback calendar. It feels nice to have everything in order. To know all of my plans, and to be able to ration out my time to what needs it the most.

I will update you a couple months into school to see how things are going. XOXO

BREAKFAST

Okay. so who doesn't love breakfast? ... or waffles? One of my favorite places to eat  breakfast and brunch is at The Waffle Experience. Located at 4391 Gateway Park Blvd in Natomas, California. Think of all your favorite breakfast meals and they have it. The only catch? Everything has a waffle incorporated into it. Take a look at their menu and you will die just thinking about how amazing it will taste. My most favorite item on their menu thus far is the "Jimmy the Greek"... it is savory, fresh, and heaven in my mouth. Click here to take a look at The Waffle Experience's website! Here are a few pictures from my most recent visit there...

This here is the beautiful "Jimmy's a Greek":
Cage free egg, feta, kalamata olives, savory onion jam,
dolmades, arugula, tomatoes, basil pesto, sun-dried
tomato pesto, balsamic drizzle, fresh herb waffle...

The "Benedict Arnold". I tried this one the last time I visited about a week or so ago and all of the ingredients were so fresh, it had so many different flavors that blended perfectly together:
House cured canadian bacon, cage free egg, kale, apple
compote, chive grain mustard hollandaise, apple infused
herb waffle

Now I don't remember the name or ingredients for this beautiful dessert waffle, because it was one of their specials. It was heavenly and the flavors were so harmonious.

I definitely recommend taking a trip to The Waffle Experience. If you are interested in a fun, delicious, and beautiful breakfast or brunch.. it's just for you!

HAIR

Hey everyone! Sorry for not posting for a while there. I just got back from camping a few days ago and have been quite busy. I got my haircut last Thursday and I have got to say that it is one of the best decisions I have ever made. It was especially fun for camping, it dried faster, and it didn't get as oily as my longer hair did. It is easy to maintain, fun, my boyfriend and family love it. Best of everything. Here are photos!!

This is from right after I got it done. Go check out more awesome photos of hair from the best on Instagram.Click here for  Studio Posh 29 .
Finally got to see it straightened too. Totally versatile and looks great with all clothes. Bought this dress from H&M for the first date with my brand new hair,

DECORATING

I absolutely love decorating. So I'd like to share some of my favorite new additions to my room. I moved here about a year ago and am still making this place my home. So shopping is a definite...
You have got to shop at Target. It works if you are more frugal, or on a budget. I got this cute chalkboard for $3... It sits by my bed. The glass container and the smelly good decorations inside are both from Cost Plus World Market. Helpful hint: place fragrant decorations by your laundry basket.. It helps for any smelly clothing.

I actually got this adorable 'I' decoration from a good friend, who I believe purchased it at either Pier 1 Imports or Cost Plus. It can either be hung on the wall, or placed on a dresser. I have a few different decorations with an orange detail on my dresser, so it worked. (The candle is also from Target... I love Target).
I made this myself.. I connected string from one side to the other of the corner and used mini clothes pins from a craft store to hang my Polaroids up. I have the FujiFilm camera, and it is really fun for trips and events.

Last, but not least is this super cute clock. Guess where it's from?...... TARGET. This can also hang on the wall, but I have chosen to place it on the dresser as well. It makes for a very nice set up. The silver candle is actually LED, and I have it set on a timer to come on at 10pm each night. Nice to come home to a little light. It is from Cost Plus as well.

I think my decorating stores have been discovered.. I mostly shop at Target, Cost Plus, or Pier 1 for decorations. Mainly because they don't break the bank, but at the same time provide many different styles.

Good Luck decorating!

SEMI-PERMANENT BEAUTY

We all have our routines. Those things that make us feel amazing and like we are ready to face the world. Well I just made my routine shorter, and more efficient. I am trying something new. I got eyelash extensions. They are amazing.

Now that isn't it, along with the semi-permanent eyelashes, I have also been enjoying getting a gel manicure every two weeks. I have discovered that once you put a little extra money into something that will last much longer it is so worth it. Now I have gotten gel manicures before, so that's not really what I am here to talk about. I'm here to discuss the eyelash extensions, and how they have made life not only way easier, but more fun too.

It started about a month ago when I saw them on Instagram and I got online and did a little bit of research. I found a place that seemed very trustworthy and had plenty of great reviews. I even recognized an acquaintance as one of their clients in the look book. I waited a week and got opinions from several friends. It was difficult because they gave me mixed reviews. Eventually I made the appointment online. Very user friendly. Going into the appointment it was a very very relaxed atmosphere. Very zen and spa-like. It took around 2 hours to complete the full set of lashes. They use silk lashes that they adhere to your natural lashes and the results are off the hook!

After that appointment I knew that I would be coming back. Now I must admit that I had asked for a more natural look, mainly because I did not know quite what was in store. I just had my second appointment (a 60 minute touch-up) and I got a more dramatic look. With the more dramatic look, you get more curve and they seem much longer and fuller. I am no longer tempted to swipe a little bit of mascara.

The lashes have made getting ready a breeze. I feel comfortable going around without makeup, and taking care of them is not difficult. They are weightless and you don't notice them at all. I think it is well worth the investment and am about to send friends for the experience too!

(I got my lashes for a steal, i used the intern for the full set. Which normally runs for around $190, but I got it for $50. I was very lucky, because now my touch-ups with the more experienced people are at the least $60. The touch-ups range with how long it takes. So it is definitely more of an investment if you don't find yourself in the lucky situation I was in.)

Good Luck!

HAIR

Okay guys, I couldn't wait..
 :
I think I am going to cut my hair. I am dying it also, I stick with a white icy blonde bayalage every time I go in. Being young (and also the fact that I think my hair stopped growing last year), I have taken it as a sign to go ahead and give the lob a try. It is very versatile and is popular lately among all ages. I pulled these three photos from one of my Pinterest boards.
 :

I was getting that sort of bored feeling with my hair. I have had long hair all of my life, and the last time it was cut short, I hated it. Now I am with a trusted hair stylist and so far everything she has ever done has been short of magical. Might as well live life and take a risk. After all... hair grows back.

FOOD - SUMMER PASTA

Here it is, first video.... I absolutely love this recipe. All the ingredients I bought at Trader Joe's, but are available at any grocery store. This pasta is very versatile, so go ahead and add anything else that sounds delicious. (Sweet Italian sausage is good).
Something that I have been making for awhile now and is super simple. Great to have for lunch or dinner, or if you need something for work or school. I always make a whole bunch. What is not eaten by family and friends, does great the next day as a snack.
Hope everyone is having a great summer!

Will be looking forward to my first beauty installment tomorrow...
